82nd Annual ABCA Convention - Columbus, Ohio

Michael T. Freehill, MD, recently presented at the American Baseball Coaches Association Conference in Columbus, Ohio, where he was invited by Major League Baseball (MLB) to share expert insights on injury prevention in youth throwers. A nationally recognized leader in sports medicine, Dr. Freehill currently serves as Head Team Physician for the Athletics Major League Baseball organization, Team Physician for Stanford University Athletics, and Head Team Physician for Stanford University Baseball. Previously, he served as a team physician for the Detroit Tigers and the Winston-Salem Dash, a Chicago White Sox affiliate.

Dr. Freehill is a board-certified, double fellowship–trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in sports medicine and serves as Chief of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. He is also the Executive Director of the Stanford Baseball Science CORE, where he leads interdisciplinary efforts to advance athlete health, performance, and injury prevention through research and clinical innovation.

M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause

On January 21, 2025, Stanford Physician Assistant Andrea Fox served as the bone health expert at the M Factor event held in Menlo Park, CA, themed "Shredding the Silence on Menopause."

This informative event featured a diverse range of experts, including  topics from our very own Emilie Cheung, md, as well as OB/GYNs, Sexual Health providers, Psychologists, and Internal Medicine specialists, all addressing various aspects of menopause and its impacts.

Andrea's insights on bone health were particularly valuable, as maintaining bone density is a critical concern during and after the menopause transition. The event provided a comprehensive platform for educating attendees and fostering discussions around these important health topics.

The program facilitated valuable discussions on the latest advancements and best practices in orthopaedic care.
