New Stanford Hospital
Opening Soon!

In 2012, Stanford began laying the foundation for what is now an incredible and chic structure.  In one week, patient care will be officially available at the brand new hospital located at 500 Pasteur Drive, Palo Alto, CA.

I'm in absolute awe -
Patient's will feel at home here.

The department of Orthopaedic Surgery had the pleasure of touring the beautiful new hospital a month ago, where we were in awe of the remarkable detail and care included in the development. From inspiring art work, to breathtaking technology, to the comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, physician, and staff, the new hospital is truly an epic addition to Stanford Medicine and patient care.

Bleck Day 2019

2019 Eugene Bleck Visiting Professors

The Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedic Surgery was honored to have two of our own faculty as this year's 2019 Eugene Bleck Visiting Professors. A dinner was held in their honor on Tuesday, October 1st, attended by faculty, spouses, and former Stanford residents who trained with Drs. Rinsky and Gamble. Dr. Lawrence Rinsky joined the faculty after completing his residency (1972-1976), and is in his 48th year here at Stanford University. Dr. James Gamble has been Dr. Rinsky's partner, and a member of the faculty since 1982.

The visiting professorship involved lectures by Dr. Rinsky and Dr. Gamble, followed by interviews, their history's here at Stanford, and shared wisdom and advice to the gathered crowd of residents, fellows, faculty, and former residents and colleagues. The visiting professors then turned the tables and interviewed members of the current pediatric faculty, showing multiple cases with long-term follow-up.

The day lived up to the expectations of Dr. Rinsky and Dr. Gamble's mentor, Eugene Bleck, a visionary leader in orthopedics who established the pediatric orthopedic program here and for whom the day is named.
